Website maintenance

As a website owner you need someone to do necessary maintenance work.  Maintenance service includes updating the system, support, as well as dealing with unexpected issues. This service is available only as an add-on to web development projects.

Work flow & deliverables

Graphic services: after agreement I provide an initial concepts of the project (in case of web design it is usually a homepage).  Finally, after approval of the work, client receives .psd files, layered and named, so they are easy to edit in future. If vector work is part of the commission I also provide .eps file of the artwork, and include necessary font files.

Coding services: After designing (or receiving) graphical layout  xhtml/css templates are written for the website. Usually code table free, css-styled layouts (of course I use tables when displaying data that needs tabular display). The Code is tested for IE6, IE7, IE8, Mozilla Firefox 2 and 3, Opera and Safari, and optionally for other browsers, if requested. The code is validated with W3.org validators and tested for W3C accessibility guidelines.

What do I need to start?

Before I start the design I always do a research on the topic of the website and the market niche the website fits in, so I need as much input as the client can give Please prepare yourself to answer following questions:

  • What is your website/company name, what is your tagline (if you have one)?
  • Do you have a logo to be included in website design?
  • What is your intended audience, what is your target market?
  • List your competitor sites if possible.
  • What is your desired color scheme?
  • Do you already have a website (if so, what is the URL)
  • What will be the content of your website? Can you list navigation links?
  • What type of look do you want to achieve? List some addresses of sites that you like.
